Indian curry powder or Madras powder is a very popular spice blend and is a mixture of both sweet and savoury spices. It’s an all-purpose spice blend. It is commonly used to accentuate the flavours in soups, stews, vegetables and meats. It contains a combination of savoury spices like cumin, coriander, fenugreek, turmeric and bay leaf which give it an earthy flavour. Cinnamon and clove add a tinge of brightness and pep to it.
